2026 is my tenth anniversary at Easton Leisure Centre and I remain delighted with it. In London, I paid a huge monthly gym fee AND had to pay for a separate swimming pool too. Here, I have it all in one and for an exceedingly reasonable annual price that still impresses me. The staff have always been friendly, helpful and kind amid what I imagine are crazy busy long days. The recent refurbishment has had a huge effect - a premier standard of new equipment, significant range, likely the best equipped gym I’ve seen and I’ve been a gym-goer for 26 years. Overall, people, price, quality - happiness on all fronts!

on Sunday, 26 April 2026, during the 13:30–14:30 public swimming session at Easton Leisure Centre. I attend your facility regularly with my seven-year-old daughter, typically two to three times per week for the past three months. During this entire period, we have consistently used the pool in the same manner—my daughter swimming in deeper areas under my direct supervision. At no point in the past has this ever been questioned, interrupted, or objected to by any member of staff, despite staff always being present poolside. During the session in question, we were swimming in a lane that was also being used by a swimming instructor and her student. Although this was a public session where lane sharing is permitted, the instructor appeared unhappy with our presence. She approached us and instructed that my daughter could not swim beyond a certain point while using a float. I complied immediately and removed the float. Shortly afterward, the instructor returned and insisted that my daughter should not swim beyond that point at all, stating that she believed my daughter was not capable of swimming safely in the deeper area. I respectfully explained that my daughter is able to swim, float, and return safely, and that she was under my supervision. Despite this, the instructor continued to restrict my daughter’s movement. I raised the matter with a manager, who stated that my daughter would not be allowed into that area unless she could complete a full lane independently. This requirement was both unexpected and inconsistent with our previous experience at the centre. In over three months of regular attendance, I have never witnessed any other child being subjected to such a test based on a staff member’s assumption of their ability. Furthermore, it is clear from regular observation that many children using the same area—while supervised by parents—would not be able to complete a full lane independently, yet they are not challenged or restricted in the same way. My daughter was effectively required to demonstrate her ability under pressure, which she successfully did by swimming the full length of the lane without assistance. Only then was she permitted to continue. While I appreciate the importance of safety, I am concerned about the following: The inconsistent application of rules, particularly given that other children in similar circumstances were not treated the same way. The fact that this approach contradicts our experience over the past three months, during which no such restrictions or tests were ever applied. The manner in which the situation was handled, which caused unnecessary stress and upset for both myself and my daughter. The decision to single out my daughter based on an assumption, rather than applying a consistent and transparent policy to all users. This experience significantly impacted what should have been a positive and routine visit. I believe the situation could have been handled in a more respectful, consistent, and fair manner. I would appreciate it if you could: Clarify the official policy regarding children swimming in deeper areas during public sessions. Explain why this policy was not applied consistently. Confirm whether it is standard practice to require individual children to prove their ability in this manner. Advise what steps will be taken to ensure fair and consistent treatment of all patrons in the future.

Thank you for choosing to have quiet or no music in the gym, this is much for accessible for people who have high sensory needs and may be sensitive to sound such as neurodivergence people. And it allows to use our headphones without competing with background noise. Great move for accessibility. Please include more quiet/accessible gym sessions and quiet swim sessions to improve!

When their app failed to process my payment properly I ended up with £50 being taken from my account for no booking. Rectifying the situation was very difficult as their system showed no record of the transaction, I had to send screen-grabs from my banking app to prove it and they had to speak to a separate accounts department. This process took several weeks, during which time I was £50 out of pocket. Anytime I called, no one seemed to have any idea what I was talking about so had to physically drive to centre on more than one occasion to get clarification. They said they were unable to reimburse me by returning money to my card and could only repay me with an equivalent value of swimming vouchers. An offer I reluctantly accepted. No I have those vouchers - they can only be activated by calling the centre. I have so far been unable to use the last two of these vouchers because no one ever answers the phone. I just spent 30 minutes calling. I have even stood in reception and called them and personally watched the staff blatantly ignore the flashing light on the ringing phone. Totally unacceptable, unprofessional behaviour and appalling organisation.
