About The Jays Guest House
Gloucester Road is one of Bristol's liveliest stretches, lined with independent shops, pubs and restaurants, and it's here that The Jays Guest House makes its home. The road runs close to the city centre, making it a practical base for exploring Bristol without the city-centre price tag, and free on-site parking is a welcome bonus in an area where street parking can be tricky.
Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, drinks facilities and the option of family or accessible rooms, and breakfast is included to set guests up for the day. Free WiFi runs throughout, and practical touches such as 24-hour reception, luggage storage and a laundry service make it easy to come and go as you please. Pets are welcome too, which isn't always a given in Bristol accommodation.
Beyond the front door, Gloucester Road itself offers plenty of pubs, bars and eateries to choose from, along with entertainment options and a golf course within reach for those wanting to venture a little further. It's a straightforward, well-equipped stop for anyone wanting to explore Bristol on their own terms.

What guests say
Fantastic old guest house and very good value for money. Very homely and traditional b and b style. Not modern or perfect but definitely cosy and comfy which i love. After a day of house clearance I had a hot shower, cup of tea and comfy bed. Will definitely come back soon.

Stayed 1 night as had work in cribs causeway, conveniently located , 7 minutes away. On main road so you can hear traffic, that said at night it’s ok for sleeping. Bit outdated and needs updating, room was clean, toilets and shower was clean, breakfast was better than expected at a price far far cheaper than anywhere else in this vicinity.. not a 3* hotel but that’s reflected in the price!!! Nice friendly staff ..

Let’s start by saying, this isn’t a premier inn or ibis. Obviously, look at the price. So if you book it, don’t expect that level. When I arrived I was greeted by a lovely lady who showed me to my room and talked me through what I needed to know during my stay. My room was ok, it was a twin room on the side of the main road. There was quite a significant crack on the window, and the light shade was crooked. The beds were not comfortable, I didn’t sleep well because it was incredibly noisy throughout the night on the road outside my room and the mattress was very uncomfortable. The decor was outdated (whatever doesn’t matter). The room was clean, the sheets were clean, the floor was hoovered and it was still a pleasant room despite the above. There was a cup, towels & soap on my bed when I arrived which was a nice touch. My room had a shared toilet/shower which was clean, though there’s quite a lot of mould of the photos & the walls in there where there’s no ventilation in there. This needs cleaning and probably some type of solution. The breakfast was decent and the man who served it was nice and friendly. It was a small English fry up, it done the job and was good. There was also the option of different cereals and variety of drinks to choose from - included in the price of the stay, so really isn’t bad at all. The dining room was very clean, and the tables were laid out nicely. I thought it was a really nice room. Plenty of parking which is great! And was close to where I was going too. Overall, I’d go back if I was in Bristol again for business. I wouldn’t if it was leisure. Thank you for the stay Jays!
