What visitors say
Nice place and dog friendly beach. We went on the bank holiday weekend so there was a problem with parking but not so crowdy on the beach. Sandy beach but there's a lot of seaweeds in the water. The only issues are lack of rubbish bins for dogs rubbish and there's no signal, either network and Internet. Not even a WiFi in the pub... Except that I would recommend the place to people without children because the nearest toilet is on the parking.

We walked along the cliff side walk from Botany Bay to reach the beautiful secluded sandy beach of Kingsgate Bay. You access it via steps down from the road... There are a number of caves and a chalk rock arch. We chose a lovely sunny Friday afternoon. Just a few groups of people, then we were all alone and so tranquil for almost an hour. No facilities actually on the beach, but there is a fabulous pub on the cliff above. The Captain Digby has parking (£10 / day if you choose to park and go down to the beach. Free to eat in the restaurant though) There is a kids playground, loos and a large sun terrace with masses of tables... We had a really nice meal.

Beautiful little beach cove with Kingsgate castle in the background. Dog friendly all year round. Steps up and down to the beach. Pub at top of the steps with kids playground.
