About Moss Side Farm Campsite

Tucked in a peaceful woodland valley near Broughton-in-Furness, Moss Side Farm is a small, family-run site on a working hill farm where footpaths lead straight from your pitch into classic Lake District walking country. Spacious grass pitches come with those smashing fell-to-sea views visitors rave about, and campfires are actively encouraged. Facilities are straightforward but well-kept - hot showers, washing-up sinks, freezer space - and the farm's resident ducks, goats, pigs and friendly dogs add genuine charm to the relaxed atmosphere.

It's an adults-only site (15+) with a properly peaceful vibe: no radios, no ball games, just the sounds of the fells. The award-winning Broughton bakery and a proper family butcher are a 30-minute walk or short drive into the village, where you'll also find three pubs. Dogs are welcome year-round, though they'll need to stay on-lead around the livestock.

Great campsite for animal lovers! We saw goats, hens, cockerels, sheep, ducks, dogs and such a huge variety of birds. Louise is very attentive and friendly and we had a quiet pitch with a beautiful view. Will definitely be coming again :)

We had the delight of staying at this beautiful campsite for the last 5 nights! When we arrived, due to how rainy it has been. We got upgraded to a rail way cabin rather than camping! Louise was super friendly and kind. There’s lots of super cute dogs who we fell in love with during our stay! The campsite is a 45 minute walk down the rail way track to the next village. We also went to Coniston which isn’t a far drive. And visited Ambleside! We can not recommend this campsite more!!! We will 100% be back!

The rooms are really good except the metal bed was very very squeaky very very squeaky!! but we had such a good time and it was so cozy plenty of room in there and I love the farm dogs coming to greet us and staying with us for a little while which was so nice! •The location is okay but it is 40 minutes away from the popular areas Make sure you bring a lighter, chargers with you!!!

Couldn’t have enjoyed my stay at Moss Side enough. Louise is incredibly friendly and offered us some recommendations to explore around the local area. The facilities were everything we needed - plenty of space in the field, hot showers, a place to do washing up. We also absolutely fell in love with some of the farm dogs. Would recommend and will definitely visit again.
