What visitors say
We have had many lovely group family and friend meals at the back horse. The lodge and cabin private rooms are very easy to book and the service and food quality is always outstanding. Thank you as always to all the wonderful staff for making our afternoon with friends and family and kiddies nice and smooth.

Went for lunch today, sat indoors, unfortunately the amount of flies inside was ridiculous. At one point me and my wife both had to eat with one hand and use our other hand as a fan to get the flies off the food. We put up with it. Then it got even worse, I asked one the staff member for a fan or candle to which they said they don’t have. Eventually we had to give up. Left without even finishing a 1/4 of our food. One the staff asked if everything was good? I told her no and the flies stopped us from eating our food. She replied with “yeah”. I asked if I could speak to a manager she said there isn’t one in today. Very disappointed

Great venue. Had inlaws 50th anniversary there. Also a bday Sunday roast. Service is good. Venue is very child friendly. Was lucky enough to get a seat outside in the sun. Portions could be a little bigger but the food does taste amazing

This place claims to cater for celiacs (gf options and gfa). However, none of the gfa options were available because of ‘delayed deluvery’. Had we been told upfront we would have gone to another pub altogether. To make matters worse, the wine we ordered and waited for 20min for, was apparently sold out. We have consistently had to order two or 3 different wines because ‘they ran out’. It would be a lot more honest for the wine menu to just be updated or to inform customers upfront. This place used to be good but has really gone downhill.
