About The Old Cannon Brewery
The Old Cannon Brewery combines a working brewery with ten guest rooms set above the brewhouse on Cannon Street, a short walk from Bury St Edmunds train station and around ten minutes on foot from the Abbey Gardens. The eight double and two twin rooms are named after the beers brewed on site, each with an en-suite shower, flat-screen television and tea and coffee facilities.
Breakfast, included with every stay, offers both continental and cooked options, and the on-site brasserie restaurant makes use of the brewery's own beers in its cooking as well as serving them at the bar. Regular events, including a weekly quiz night and a beer and burger evening, give the inn a lively, sociable character rather than a purely functional stopover.
Its position close to the station makes it an easy choice for anyone arriving by train, while dogs are welcome for a small additional charge, a useful option for guests travelling with pets who still want to be within walking distance of the town centre.

What guests say
My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights to see a show at the Apex. We had a lovely warm welcome and the staff were amazing all through our stay. Hardworking, helpful and attentive but not in your face. The beer is amazing and brewed on site and CAMRA members get a 15% discount which i only found out after having a few. The burger and pint meal deal is great value and really nice. We also stayed for the quiz night which was fun and enjoyable with full table service as well. Breakfast (Continental and Cooked) was included and very nice. The room (No 1) was nice although we couldn't open the window for fresh air and the room upstairs was very noisy early morning and night time, however, it was cosy, clean and comfy with a great shower. We would definitely come back, the beer garden looked amazing and would be nice to sit in during the summer. Parking is not free outside (booking.com listing is a little miss leading) but there are lots of good value nearby options available.

We had a fantastic stay at The Old Cannon brewery. Just one night with friends. Arrived early but was able to drop our bags off. Very limited parking so parked in town which wasnt an issue. Rooms well appointed, clean and comfortable. Great selection of beers. Evening meal and breakfast both delicious (perfect soft scrambled egg). Wonderful friendly staff.

Brewery tour was great. Katie was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Lunch was very good although we missed out on dessert due to closing of food, even though we indicated our wish for dessert. Beers were good and overall we had a great time. Thanks

Lovely friendly staff. Loved the BBQ burnt ends and Mac & cheese. Pity being outside meant you had to share with smokers but hey that’s life. Parking a pain. But it meant I had a nice walk on a beautiful day.
