About Cae'r Boncath Glamping

Tucked into peaceful countryside on the edge of Snowdonia National Park, this intimate smallholding glamping site takes its name from the buzzards nesting in the adjacent bluebell wood – over 50 bird species have been recorded here, so pack those binoculars. The sheltered pitches sit in a genuine wildlife haven, yet you're only 10 minutes' drive from Caernarfon and 15 from the coast, making it an ideal base for exploring castles, mountains and beaches alike.

Walkers, climbers and riders are well catered for, with footpaths and bridleways threading through scenic countryside toward the peaks. The site provides secure bike storage and even horse turnout if needed. Glamping tents share compost toilets, solar showers (high season), camp kitchens with gas cookers, and firepits for starlit evenings – logs sold on site.

The owners offer free-range eggs, pork, veg and fruit when available, plus freshly baked bread to order each morning. It's a small, renewable-energy setup that feels genuinely off-grid, though some might find facilities fairly rustic compared to full-service sites.

We stayed in the shepherds hut, which was absolutely immaculate. This eco-friendly experience really allows you to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and scenery. which includes a lush green pitch, stunning star filled sky at night (if it’s clear) and a really peaceful atmosphere. A very respectful owner who provides great facilities. a lovely kitchen area for you to use, supplied with all the cooking equipment you could think of. Very clean eco toilet/shower facilities (we found it smelling nicer than any public toilet, even nicer than our toilet block at work). The logs for the fire (included in the price) and a brilliant fire pit allowed us to sit outside till late and it felt so private. In the hut, solar power is used for the lights and a charging point for phones which also had a radio. we found we only needed one light on (there’s 3) and it was lovely and bright, we took our own wires to charge phones and as it had two usb ports this was ideal. you may need a torch at night for the loo as there is no light pollution so it is dark, but only a stones throw from the hut. we found shops just a short drive away, and even a gluten-free chippy for when we was feeling too lazy to cook. We went to hike up snowdon and would recommend this site for anyone wanting to do that, as it just added to the experience. We would love to stay here again, a rare find and for the price, a real bargain

We loved our stay here and I would recommend it to everyone. We stayed in the Bell tent and it was wonderful. I really enjoy the rustic showers and toilet. It was an experience I won't forget in a stunning location. It's nice and quiet and you can see all the stars at night too.

Was welcomed at the gate and shown the facilities in great detail. Everything you need for an excellent camping experience and the owner was always at hand when we needed anything. Highly recommended.

A really unique experience and the owners couldn't do enough for us. I would liken this camping to the celebrity jungle experience with its composting toilet and outside shower, I'm not too sure other people would consider it glamping just because of the bed. We loved out however and it was prefect for our 3 night stay, our son really enjoyed it as did we. Recommended for a short stay.
