About Riverside Camping
Riverside Camping occupies about four and a half acres beside the River Seiont at Pontrug, roughly two miles from Caernarfon on the road towards Llanberis. It's a smaller, quieter alternative to the big holiday parks, arranged as a series of sheltered grassy areas separated by mature planting, which makes it feel less exposed than most valley sites in the region. The 36 electric hook-ups are served by two shower and toilet blocks with disabled and family facilities, plus a launderette, free Wi-Fi and phone charging. A children's play area sits in the middle of the site, alongside a small football pitch, table tennis and volleyball and badminton courts.
What you're buying is position and calm. Caernarfon is a ten-minute drive for the castle and the Welsh Highland Railway terminus, the Anglesey beaches are twenty minutes over the Menai bridges, and Llanberis and the Snowdon trailheads are fifteen minutes in the other direction. Being outside the mountain core means marginally better weather and much easier access than sites deep in the passes. It suits couples, families with young children and anyone touring north-west Wales rather than climbing every day.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We stayed at Riverside Campsite this weekend with a group of friends, and we had a fantastic time. The campsite is in a beautiful, picturesque setting with stunning surroundings that make it the perfect place to relax and unwind. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the facilities were excellent—well maintained and with everything you could need for a comfortable stay. It’s a brilliant campsite for families, couples, or groups of friends alike. The location is ideal too, especially if you’re planning to explore Snowdonia, with easy access to some of the area’s most popular walking routes. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to return. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a friendly, clean, and peaceful campsite in a fantastic location!

Our cabin was amazing. Admittedly there were only two of us staying in something that could sleep six so we had loads of personal space! The cabin was tucked away from the main camping area, right next to the river. So quiet and peaceful. The hot tub being an added bonus. Will definitely stay there again

I spent 4 nights at Riverside Camping in my touring caravan on a fully serviced pitch. Access to the site is good (no tight, windy roads to navigate!!) The site is beautiful - as soon as I drove on, I knew we were somewhere special. The family team are so friendly and made us feel welcome. The site was exceptionally quiet when we were there (lucky us!!) but pitches are well spaced even if it had been busy, I don’t think it would have felt crowded. Facilities are well kept - the team take pride in this. Unfortunately, when we were there, someone made a mess in a shower block - everyone on site received an email to apologise and explain why reception was closed for longer than expected (due to the extra time spent cleaning). The kids loved the park and a paddle in the river too. The River Watch board was really useful to explain water danger to the kids so they knew why to only go ankle deep!! Riverside is a beautiful place and I’m already looking to when we can go back. Thank you Catherine, Adam & the Riverside team. See you again x

Just got back from an Amazing weekend camping here. Loved every minute of it. The site is immaculate, showers and toilets always clean and never had to queue even on a busy bank holiday weekend. The location is so beautiful with the river running through. We ate at the Mill Bistro on site twice and the food was great. We loved hiring a fire pit and sitting out having a fire in the evening. Caernarfon is very close and a lovely place to visit. The staff were all amazing especially Catherine the owner very helpful nothing was too much trouble. Thank you so much for a great stay. We cant wait to return soon.
