About Pen y Buarth
North Wales is often a relaxed place to spend a few days, but there's an extra boost of fabulous rural peace when you stay at Pen y Buarth. This adult-only smallholding site on the edge of Bethel has just a handful of spacious grass pitches, each with electric hook-up, so there's plenty of room to spread out. You'll share the space with a few resident animals – dogs are welcome but must be kept under control around the livestock.
The location is superb for exploring multiple corners of North Wales: you're on the doorstep of Snowdonia National Park (Llanberis is about 20 minutes), 10 minutes from Caernarfon, and within half an hour of popular spots on Anglesey and the Llŷn Peninsula. Bethel's community café serves excellent breakfasts, lunches and cream teas, and an hourly bus runs to Caernarfon if you need more shops or eating options. Shared facilities include water points, chemical disposal and a bathroom block – though there's an extra charge for showers, which may feel slightly unexpected.

Absolutely stunning! And the hosts were amazing! Called up to enquire regarding a VERY last minute stay due to a family emergency within the area. They were fantastic and extremely understanding and welcoming! A beautiful site and the pod was very cosy. Was lovely to wake up to the sounds of nature surrounding us - song birds, cockerels, horses. I cannot recommend them enough! Will definitely be coming back when I have time to properly enjoy the area and the 'neigh-bours' more ❤️ Thank you Elen and Gethyn!

Quiet campsite with decent facilities. The showers were hot and the owners were very friendly and helpful. There are horse and chickens on site too which are nice to look at.

Great place to stay, roughly 15 minutes to Bangor and 10 minutes to Caernarfon. Pod was comfortable and came with kettle, tea, coffee, and locally sourced Welsh cakes. The host was friendly, and I had a good chat with her both days I was there. I would recommend this place, it is out the way and peaceful but also close enough to main areas if interest.
