We had a wonderful Sunday visit to Caldicot Castle. It’s an absolute gem of a place, especially since both castle entry and the parking are completely free! Inside, there is a lovely small gift shop that sells warm drinks and snacks, which was perfect for a quick break. We loved exploring the castle rooms, which are beautifully set up with historic furniture left behind by the very last families to occupy the estate when it was a family home. The absolute highlight, though, was climbing up to take in the fantastic, uninterrupted 360 degree views of the surrounding country park and parklands from the battlements.

Plenty of free parking! Free entry! Dog friendly! Very accessible for all! Small gift shop that sells snacks and hot/cold drinks inside the castle grounds. Toilets and accessible toilets are next to the shop. Plenty of seating! Lots of walking trails. Not a bad thing to say about this place, we spent a lovely few hours here on a bright day. Explored the castle and grounds then walked the park for a bit... just a easy chill vibe here and there was lots of places to rest and relax.

A very pleasant park with a large variety of trees, a pretty lake and a castle. Plenty of parking, decent toilets, football pitches and a cafe. Entry to the castle and the parking are free. It's all dog friendly with plenty of bins. Even if the car parks appear full, drive down to the end and (if conditions allow) there will be overflow parking in a field. If there is a match on, check out the club house for a reasonably priced beer.

Caldicot Castle is a lovely historical spot and a really nice place to visit, especially when there are no events running. It has a relaxed, chilled atmosphere, making it a great place to wander around at your own pace and enjoy the castle and grounds. The inside grounds are well worth exploring, with plenty to see and a nice sense of history throughout. There is also a small shop selling food and drinks, which is handy if you want to stop for a snack or something to drink during your visit. There is plenty of seating available, both in the sun and in shaded areas, so it is easy to take your time and relax while enjoying the surroundings. It can get quite busy when events are on, but even then, there is still plenty to look at and enjoy. Overall, Caldicot Castle is a pleasant and interesting place to visit, with a good mix of history, open space, and a calm atmosphere when it is quieter.
