What a wonderful two hours we spent in the woods making our own spatulas out of greenwood. Celi was informative, encouraging and patient and guided us through every step with clear instructions - they are very knowledgeable and approachable. Brilliant setting, excellent tutor and, even if I say so myself, a fab spatula at the end of it! Diolch.

Golden hills is in an extremely quiet location, no more than half a dozen pitches are on this site. It's very basic but that's great, one compost toilet on site with hand washing facilities. There is an honesty box selling bits and bobs including water. No water on site. No showers. The pitches really need to be flatter. I struggled in my van to level off even with very deep levelers. This would make a massive difference. One other camper on the site when I was there and he said the wild flowers during the "summer" were beautiful. I missed them unfortunately. Overall I liked this site so 3 stars. I will visit again next year as I feel there are massive opportunities here. Super cheap at £9 and adult. Open fires on site allowed and firewood provided at a cost.

We had a family camping trip to Golden Hill Woods. What a site! The compost toilet is beautiful and feels lux. The views and sunsets are amazing. The site is fairly isolated, so you feel really immersed in nature. As others have said, no power or water so come prepared. You can borrow fire pits, and honesty box for coffee and other useful bits. We will definitely be back!
