About The Crown Hotel
The Crown Hotel has stood on Callander's Main Street since 1740, making it one of the town's oldest continuously trading buildings, and today operates as a straightforward, well-located three-star hotel above its own bar and restaurant. Rooms have been refurbished in recent years while keeping the building's older proportions and character, and the central position puts guests within a short walk of every shop, cafe and pub in town.
The kitchen serves home-cooked Scottish food built around locally sourced meat and fish, and the bar is a genuine local as well as a hotel amenity, giving visitors a chance to mix with Callander residents rather than only other tourists. Given its Main Street position, the hotel suits visitors without a car, or anyone wanting to walk out of their room straight onto the town's high street.
As one of the more affordable hotel-standard options in the centre of Callander, the Crown works well as a simple, no-frills base for walkers and tourers who want their comfort and budget balanced in favour of location.
What guests say
Stopped off in Callander on Thursday on way back back from wedding looking for a nice lunch. Popped in to The Crown. Lunch was excellent, 3 of us had the Cullen skink main and I had the burger. Thoroughly enjoyed our food and the service by the 2 lovely girls behind the bar. Lovely place and would certainly return when back in Callander. Thanks Pete Askew. 😁

Me and my partner booked to stay at the crown hotel for two nights. From the get go the staff were amazing, friendly and very attentive. On our first night we decided to go for a drink down at the pub! Great selection and again amazing staff, such a cozy theme they have also. On our second night we decided to go try their food, ugh incredible!! We will definitely be back we honestly can’t fault it at all.

Popped in to watch the footy. The beers were top quality, Schiehallion and Bitter and Twisted. Chicken curry was to die for. Great service, good value 👏

I came in at 7pm to have a dinner. By 7.30 there were 4 tables empty. Nobody came to me like 'hey we have a table for you, please take a seat emjoy the crown hotel dinner or anything similar' Terrible costumer service. The neck tattoed 'barman' couldn't even pour a pint normaly not to get beer all over the glass. Boring and dull place, please avoid. There are several places in Callander with better service.
