About Big Barn Camping
Tucked away near the historic village of Laugharne, Big Barn Camping offers a peaceful retreat with a welcoming, back-to-nature vibe. Campers praise the friendly hosts, spotlessly clean facilities, and the freedom to have campfires under the stars—perfect for toasting marshmallows with the kids. Choose from grass pitches (including superior and premium fenced options) or upgrade to a quirky Fox Barn Pod or one of the glamping domes perched with valley views.
Dogs are welcome to roam, and the relaxed atmosphere suits families looking to unplug (there's no WiFi, which many find refreshing). While facilities are simple and there's no chemical waste disposal, the site's charm lies in its unspoilt setting and genuine hospitality. An excellent base for exploring Dylan Thomas's Laugharne and the stunning Carmarthenshire coast.

What visitors say
Stargazing tent was big enough, non of the lashing rain came in. Toilet fine, all important things were there. We couldnt see the stars (weather issue, not venue) but the sheep which was equally nice :) will recommend.

Our family—three kids and a dog in tow—spent an unforgettable few days at Big Barn campsite last week, and we honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely welcomed and at ease. Michael is the kind of host who makes you feel like you’ve known him for years—thoughtful, kind, and clearly passionate about his eco-conscious slice of paradise nestled within his working sheep farm. Everything we needed for a cozy and comfortable stay was thoughtfully provided: piping hot showers, spotless toilets, sturdy picnic benches, and an endless supply of firewood that kept us warm through the chilly April nights. But what truly made this stay magical were the animals—Michael’s much-loved goats, chickens, baby lambs, alpacas, and hogs. Our kids were absolutely enchanted, and even our dog seemed to be in his element. Getting to interact with the animals added a truly special, heartwarming touch to the entire experience. It was one of those soul-nourishing getaways that reminds you how beautiful and simple life can be. We left feeling deeply refreshed, grateful, and already dreaming about our next visit.

Absolutely fantastic!!! The minute we turned onto the drive, we knew we had found a hidden gem!! The views were amazing. The entire site was above expectations. Michael was welcoming, friendly & helpful from beginning to end, and has thought of just about everything for an enjoyable & hassle free stay, from phone chargers to ice packs, to the little 'honesty box shop', which was real handy when our stove gas bottle ran out at 10pm!! The whole place was well kept, clean & tidy, with every facility well thought out. We had an amazing 3 days on the superior pitch and will definitely be booking again... Hopefully, really soon!!! Thank you so much, Michael. You made our little get-away perfect in every way!! Keith & Cathy x

Big Barn Camping Review We had a wonderful stay at Big Barn Camping! Michael, the owner, is incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The toilets and showers were very clean, and the washing-up facilities were well-maintained. There’s also a handy freezer available to refreeze icepacks. The camping pitches have benches and fire pits available and are very spacious. The campsite itself is really peaceful with good space between campers. The campsite is set in beautiful scenery, and the location is excellent for exploring the surrounding area. Highly recommend for a peaceful and enjoyable camping experience! (One warning that's nothing to do with the campsite, it was quite windy at times so bring along some extra tent pegs or reliable wind breaks if you weren't already going too!)
