About Garnffrwd Park

Family-run Garnffrwd Park sits quietly in 32 acres of Carmarthenshire woodland, its well-maintained pitches (electric hardstanding and non-electric grass) gazing out over a tranquil fishing lake. The spotless shower and toilet facilities earn consistent praise, as does the Lakeview Café, open Wednesday to Saturday and serving excellent coffee and breakfast from its lakeside terrace. Staff go above and beyond to ensure a peaceful stay, and there's fly fishing on-site if you fancy it.

Though blissfully remote-feeling, the site's only 10 minutes from the A48, making it easy to explore the area. Countryside walks radiate straight from the pitches—ideal for stretching four legs or two—while dog-friendly beaches at Llansteffan and Burry Port lie half an hour away. Carmarthen, with its castle, indie shops and restaurants, is a 20-minute drive, and several local pubs serving Welsh ales and home-cooked food sit within 15 minutes.

Visited with our T5 campervan. Owners were responsive and friendly when they met us on arrival. Lovely clean site and pitches are a good size. Gravel hard standing pitches which are level with grass areas to the side for awning. Electric hookups on pitches. Water available, large recycling bins provided close to the lake. Perfectly peaceful area with no noise and we had a lovely overnight stay. Village with shops and pubs approximately half a mile away. Shower available, £1 for ten mins. Toilet and showers are spotlessly clean. The park is a fishery and there are lovely views over the lake. Shower and toilets are down a short, very steep hill from the campsite pitches, wasn't a problem however this could be difficult if you have any mobility issues. All in all a peaceful, relaxing overnight stay and would return.

Fantastic fishery, campsite and cafe. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Phil and Danni were excellent hosts, giving us tips for the lake and supplying a delicious breakfast. Check out the on-site tackle shop too, all sorts of flies at a good price. The lake itself is gorgeous with all sorts of bird life. Well worth a visit for a long weekend or more!

Stayed for 3 nights for some fishing, accommodation was good value and comfortable with beautiful views, the fishing was great considering the weather, and Phil and Danni were exceptional hosts, Phil even came to my rescue when I got stuck in the snow, and gave me a lift to my car the next day. All in all a wonderful stay, the whole Park was just so peaceful, I will be back soon.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely Outstanding – Garnffrwd Park Trout Fishery & Oak Lodge We’ve just come back from an incredible stay at Garnffrwd Park Trout Fishery, and honestly, it’s one of the best fishing breaks we’ve had. The fishery is immaculate — beautifully kept lakes, and hard-fighting, quality trout that make every cast exciting. Despite the weather being fair with the odd spell of heavy rain, the fishing was excellent. I managed to land 10 trout of various species and sizes, all caught on a Jase Price sedge dry fly, which made the sessions even more satisfying. The new owners, Phil and Danni, are truly amazing hosts and have already put their own special stamp on the place. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed. On entering Oak Lodge, we were blown away to find a bottle of prosecco, traditional Welsh cakes, and a pint of milk waiting for us — such a thoughtful and personal touch that immediately set the tone for the stay. Oak Lodge itself is spotlessly clean, warm, and incredibly comfortable, with beautiful views over the water. Sitting on the deck in the morning with a coffee, and in the evening with a glass of something stronger, watching the lake and wildlife, was pure peace. I was with my beautiful wife Sonya and our springer spaniel Rosie, and it truly felt like a home-from-home escape — relaxing, scenic, and memorable in all the right ways. If you’re looking for top-class trout fishing, fantastic accommodation, and a genuine Welsh welcome, Garnffrwd Park Trout Fishery and Oak Lodge are an absolute must. We’ll 100% be back. Lee & Sonya
