Y Beudy Bach

Carmarthenshire

View on Google Maps

Llanelli and Carmarthen are within 15 minutes, but Y Beudy Bach sits deeper in the countryside between Pontyberem and Pontyates, with views across the Gwendraeth Valley. The village of Pontyberem—five minutes away—has a shop, café and restaurants; the coast is another 15 minutes on top of that. The property itself is a restored stone building with three bedrooms (two kingsize, one with twins) and two bathrooms across a single open floor, plus a private hot tub for six in the courtyard.

The main living space combines kitchen and dining area under one roof, with an electric range, dishwasher and the usual appliances for self-catering. There's a wood-burner, patio doors onto the courtyard, and a TV with DVD. Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are included. Three parking spaces are available on site. The property suits families and couples; a travel cot, highchair and stairgate can be arranged on request. No smoking is permitted.

Within reach are Kidwelly Castle, the Ffos Las Racecourse, the National Botanical Gardens and Pembrey Country Park, plus Ferryside Beach for swimming and water sports. The surrounding countryside offers quieter exploration when you want to step away from the attractions.

Beudy Bach was way above our expectations. It had 10/10 or 5/5 for everything, which I had rarely seen before.  However,  when we arrived, I could see how true the reviews were. We had the best week!  Gwenda is the perfect host. The house was beautifully and lovingly prepared for our arrival. I really appreciated the phone call the week prior to arrival: such a personal touch. This was really really helpful because  it gave an opportunity to ask any last-minute questions. The gardens are lovely too and well looked after. We had some nice chats on a couple of occasions when we passed on the drive. The house was very clean and well equipped. It had all the little things like salt, papper, dishwasher tablets, cling film and tin foil, etc. Our family, as well as the grandchildren, loved the hot tub. The view from the tub was so relaxing. We took our own towels for the tub. However, a bath towel and hand towel were supplied for each person in the house, as well as a tea towel and oven gloves. The area was great, so rural, which makes a change from busy town life. And encourages our bodies to slow down. There were lots of activities to do around the area. However,  we took this opportunity to release. Such a wonderful, relaxing holiday for us.
