Llys y Prior Holiday Barns -The Smithy
Carmarthenshire

On the border between Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire, where the Preseli Hills dominate the landscape, The Smithy is a converted barn set in rural farmland. It's a single bedroom, one bathroom property that sleeps two, occupying its own space within a small group of traditional Welsh stone buildings. The conversion sits adjacent to the owner's home, which means there's on-site parking for two cars and a private patio with garden furniture overlooking the surrounding countryside.
Inside, everything is on the ground floor: an open-plan living space with a 43-inch TV, a kitchen equipped for proper cooking (electric oven, dishwasher, microwave), and a bedroom with a king bed and en-suite bathroom. Electricity, wifi, bed linen and towels come as standard. The barns share a courtyard garden with other properties on the site. A pub lies within a mile, and a shop is 300 yards away.
This location works well for exploring the dramatic Pembrokeshire coast—Tenby and Saundersfoot are under 30 minutes' drive—but it's equally suited to quieter pursuits: walking the Preseli Hills, visiting Kidwelly or Dynevor castles, or spending time at the National Botanic Gardens of Wales. Laugharne, Dylan Thomas's home, is nearby. Red kites and buzzards circle overhead regularly. One well-behaved pet stays free.
