Pant-y-Bryn Bach is a converted Welsh longhouse in rural Carmarthenshire, sleeping two in a single bedroom with a full bathroom and separate living spaces. The detached property sits on its own with private parking, a garden with seating area and barbecue, and enough seclusion to feel genuinely remote. There's no smoking throughout, and the cottage does not accept children.

Downstairs opens onto a kitchen with electric cooking and a washing machine, a dining area, and a living room with a woodburner (initial fuel included) and Freesat television. Upstairs is the bedroom with two single beds and night storage heaters. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included. The real draw is the setting: bridleways and walking paths radiate into the surrounding countryside, with forests at Cwm Rhaeadr and Crychan nearby, and the RSPB reserve at Llyn Brianne Reservoir a short distance away. If you bring your own horse, you can ride straight from the property. Llandovery is three miles away at the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park; Llandeilo is about eleven miles further on. The nearest pub is three miles away.

Stayed here a week, fabulous little cottage, everything you need is supplied. Stunning location and garden. Lovely owners. Not too far from Llandovery where we made use of the local leisure centre pool, some nice places to eat breakfast, some take aways and a supermarket. Had dreadful weather all week but managed to visit some dams which were spectacular with all the wet weather. We will definitely return, loved it.

The open fire spat out some wood which burnt the carpet. No companion set to pick up the debris. Had to use kitchen oven gloves. Owners took £150 to replace old fireplace carpet. How do you pick up hot stuff without the proper tools?
