Sonny Cottage works well for families wanting space to spread out, or small groups sharing a rural base. The three bedrooms sleep five: a zip-and-link super kingsize (which splits into singles), a double, and a single. One bathroom serves the property. You get the ground floor to yourselves—a living room and separate dining room both with Freeview TV and DVD, plus a kitchen with electric oven and gas hob. Essentials including bed linen, towels, wi-fi and heating are covered. An external utility room has a washing machine and freezer if you need them.

What makes the place different is the hot tub in the enclosed garden, which fits four people. There's parking for two cars on site and a bike store. The location, near Garnant in Carmarthenshire, puts you four miles from Ammanford and fifteen from Swansea. Lyn Llech Owain Country Park is close by for cycling and walking; the Four Waterfalls at Ystradfellte and Dan yr Ogof caves are the kind of Welsh attractions families gravitate towards. A pub, shop and restaurant are half a mile away. One dog can stay free; smoking is not permitted inside.
