Tregaron and the Cambrian Mountains are within reach of Cwt Cwtshlyd, a shepherd's hut on private land near Tan yr Allt. The area suits walkers and anyone wanting to be away from towns but not entirely cut off—there's a pub within a mile, and the market town's independent shops and cafés lie a short drive away. Cors Caron Nature Reserve, a wetland rich with birdlife, is also accessible from here.
The hut is one open room on ground level, with a living area centred on a woodburner, a kitchenette fitted with an electric hob and fridge, and a bedroom with a ¾ double bed. The shower room is in a separate outbuilding. Solid fuel heating, electricity, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are included. Parking for two cars is on site, and one dog stays free. The entrance is via a footpath and up four steps.
This is a back-to-basics retreat suited to couples or solo travellers who want quiet and don't need entertainment laid on. There's no television. Smoking is not permitted.
