Orchid Meadows

If you are searching for a stunningly beautiful place to stay, surrounded by acres of nature, birdsong, wild flower meadows and trees then Orchid Meadows is the perfect place. We slept in the Goldfinch Glampavan in our own private meadow, shaded by trees. The van has a very comfortable bed with high quality linen and the outdoor kitchen is really well equipped with good shade/ rain protection. Our meadow also had our own seating area with fire pit and pizza oven. The Wren hut, just a very short walk away, has a private bathroom with powerful hot shower. There is a wonderful nature trail taking you around all the different habitats with notes on what to look out for. Stephen and Lynn are so welcoming and being greeted with a box of Lynn's homemade cakes after a long journey was amazing. We loved it so much we extended our stay by another 3 nights. Orchid Meadows is really well placed for the first 3 days walking the new Teifi Valley trail as we were. Tregaron, a couple of miles away, has a lovely coffee shop in the old bank building. We recommend walking from Strata Florida up to the Teifi Pools and back. Stunning, remote and beautiful. There's so much to do here of you love walking, wildlife and peace and quiet.

What a find! Tucked away in a very peaceful lane with wonderful views across the valley and hills. We stayed here in mid April and found Tawny Cottage to have everything we could possible need. Beautifully furnished and decorated, it has great character, befitting its age, whilst also having the luxury of a great little modern kitchen and bathroom. Warm, cosy and quiet. Owners Steve and Lynn have created a nature haven of such magnitude, it’s easily enough to lose yourself in, leaving the modern world far behind. Thank you Steve and Lynn for all your help and advice on permaculture, Ceredigion and also for your wonderful generosity and scrumptious home grown greens and eggs. We’ll be back!

This was our second stay at Red Kite Yurt, and we were not disappointed. The whole set up is so welcoming and is completely geared around relaxation through reconnecting with nature. For two days we more or less sat in a field watching the wild flowers blow in the wind, the dragonflies, butterflies, buzzards,bats and of course, several red kites. Walking around the beautiful site ( paths well marked) we picked blackberries and the jam is now made to remind us of our wonderful stay. Lynn and Steve are so pleasant and interesting, without being intrusive. Fresh produce is available free/on request. The Yurt itself is so comfy and cozy, and the kitchen makes cooking and eating alfresco a pure joy. A day out to Aberystwyth on the third day, then back to the meadow for another campfire and playing silly games , also provided by the hosts. We are campers, which can be quite hard work, and to have the treat of being under canvas in such luxury is absolutely fabulous, and at such reasonable prices. We cannot recommend this place highly enough. Massive thanks to Lynn and Steve for provision of a very much needed therapeutic break.

My husband & I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Red Kite yurt! Steve & Lynn were excellent hosts, very friendly and welcoming. The yurt, outdoor eating area and bathroom facilities were all spotlessly clean. Such a peaceful place surrounded by beautiful nature. We fell asleep to the sound of owls each night 😊
