Families and small groups will find Teifi Cottage works well as a base for exploring mid-Wales. The cottage is one of six restored barns on the Penwern Fach estate, with its own front garden, patio and sitting area. A wood burner heats the open-plan ground floor, which contains the living and dining space plus a kitchen equipped for self-catering. Upstairs are two bedrooms—one with a double bed, the other with three singles—and a bathroom with bath and shower. A travel cot, highchair and stairgate are on hand for younger children. One well-behaved dog is welcome, though it must stay on a lead in this sheep-farming area.
The estate itself has shared facilities including a golf practice area, football field, children's play area and games room, useful when the weather turns. Cenarth village, famous for its waterfall and salmon leaping, is nearby, as are walking routes across the Preseli Hills. The coast at Ceredigion is within reach for days out. Electricity, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are provided, along with wood for the burner. There is parking for two cars on site and an electric charging point. The cottage is non-smoking throughout.
