Yr Hen Stabl

Yr Hen Stabl is a single-storey barn conversion on a working sheep farm, set on grounds that overlook Cors Caron Nature Reserve. The property sits on the edge of 20 acres of partly wooded land, with a direct footpath leading into the reserve itself. A walled garden with patio, terrace and barbecue wraps around the building, and there is a separate fenced paddock with a picnic bench. The surrounding landscape opens onto bridleways and Sustrans cycling routes, making it a base for walking and cycling rather than a retreat from activity.

Inside, everything is on ground level: a combined living and dining room with a woodburner and Freeview television, a kitchen equipped for cooking and a utility area, two bedrooms (one double, one with two singles), and a bathroom with a bath and shower. The essentials—heating, electricity, bed linen and towels—are included, along with logs for the woodburner. Wi-Fi is available throughout. A travel cot and highchair are provided, and parking for one car is on site. One dog is welcome to stay.

The location suits families, walkers, cyclists and birdwatchers. The Cambrian Mountains, Elan Valley and Bwlch yr Arian Forest with its mountain bike trails are nearby. Aberystwyth, with its beaches, railway and cultural attractions, lies about 30 minutes' drive away, as does the Ceredigion Heritage Coast. The property does not permit smoking.
