What visitors say
Great few hours out. Me and my son throughly enjoyed the tunnel tour which I'd highly recommend. Saturday Steve and Tom led our tour and they were very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The site is huge, however not too exciting on a rainy day in March. I understand they do lots of fun things in the summer and school hols including reenactments etc so choose your time to visit wisely. I'd definitely recommend a visit though.

We explored Fort Amherst on one of their tunnel tours. We had the pleasure of Tom as our guide, he was incredibly knowledgeable and made the tour an enjoyable experience. Such a good opportunity to learn more about our local history. We walked through the site afterwards and enjoyed the view. We also found time to have some lunch at the Canon café afterwards.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tunnel tour this morning with our fantastic and very knowledgeable guide Tom. His knowledge about the history of the fort and tunnels, as well as the local area was amazing. He made the tour very interesting and kept both adults and children entertained throughout. We finished our trip with lunch in the lovely cafe on site. Would thoroughly recommend a trip to Fort Amherst to anybody wanting to learn more about the history of the Medway area.
