About The Rodney Stoke Caravan and Camping Park
The Rodney Stoke Caravan and Camping Park sits just outside the village, ideally placed for exploring Cheddar Gorge and the Mendip Hills. Recent upgrades have given the 27 hardstanding pitches individual water and waste points, while five grass pitches offer a softer option – all with electric hook-up. The facilities block is clean and modern, and there's a pub conveniently next door for those evenings when you don't fancy cooking.
This is an adults-only site with a straightforward, well-maintained feel. Staff are friendly and often around if you need anything, and campfires are allowed for those who enjoy an evening flame. Dogs are welcome too. It's open year-round and provides WiFi throughout, making it a practical base whether you're touring the region or settling in for a longer Mendip stay.

What visitors say
A lovely little site about 10 mins drive from Cheddar. The site is adult only and has had some recent upgrades including new gravelled pitches, grass/artificial grass, new planting, tarmac road etc, making it a very tidy and attractive site. The shower and toilet facilities were clean and modern. Geoff the new site manager had a visible presence on site and was very pleasant and helpful. The site is located almost equal distance between Wells and Cheddar. There are bus stops along the main road a few mins from the campsite. Buses run every 2 hours but seems to run 20 mins late, forget a out buses altogether on a Sunday or Bank Hol, there aren't any. Would definitely stay here again

We have just spent four nights at this caravan park and we’re very impressed. We have stayed there a couple of times before but it has just been improved and changed ownership. The site itself is close to Cheddar and all the beautiful sights there. The site has clean and comfortable shower and toilet blocks. A nice dog area which was handy. But…we were blown away with how helpful and friendly the site manager was. Jeff went above and beyond to help us with a couple of queries with our caravan. He was amazingly helpful and gave recommendations of where we could get the issue fixed. We will definitely be going back to the site and I would highly recommend

We stayed at this lovely site over the May bank holiday. It has been completely upgraded earlier this year and the facilities are clean and modern. The pitches are generous each with own hook up and water supply. The location is ideal for visiting both Wells and Cheddar. There is a bus stop just outside the site (note that the buses do not run on Sundays!). The Rodney Stoke Inn is great for a drink or good pub food in the evenings. However the best feature of this site is the live in warden, Geoff. He, and his wife, are extremely helpful and are obviously very dedicated to ensuring the site is as comfortable and efficient as it can be to ensure everyone has a very enjoyable stay. I would thoroughly recommend the site, the facilities and the location.

Lovely clean& quiet campsite, toilets & showers were immaculate, lovely little touch was freshly picked wild flowers in the loos& in the reception area. So glad the new owners have got rid of the 20 pence’s you had to use to have a shower🤩 Geoff the new manager is a lovely chap he was popping into cheddar & asked if i needed anything, also let us borrow a spare set of steps/ stool to help us into the van as we left ours at home& a hammer too🤩
