We had a wonderful four nights in Noble Fir Lodge. Everything is top quality: the property, the furnishings, the hot tub and the setting amongst the trees. Everything was spotlessly clean. It was so blissful and relaxing we didn’t want to go home. And with the take-away and the farm shop two minutes walk away we didn’t have to go far for supplies. We wouldn’t hesitate to book again, especially if we can take advantage of the mid-week, four night offer as we did this time.

We stayed at the lodges at Hollies Farm Shop for 4 nights in the Nordmann Fir lodge and honestly had such a lovely stay. The accommodation itself was beautiful, decorated so thoughtfully and finished to a really high standard. It still felt like a proper lodge stay, cosy, peaceful and relaxing, just done really, really well. We stayed in one of the dog-friendly lodges and it was absolutely amazing for our dog. The garden was a great size, big enough for her to run around and play fetch properly, but it was also fully enclosed so we never had to worry about her getting out. She was completely safe, which made the stay so much more relaxing for us too. The little touches throughout the lodge really made it stand out. The kitchen was incredibly well equipped, with lovely wine glasses, plates and tableware, not something you often get when staying somewhere self-catering. It genuinely felt like having restaurant-quality dining in the comfort of your own space. They’d even put ice in the freezer ready for us, which meant we could make iced coffees with the coffee machine in the mornings, and they’d included decaf pods too, which was such a thoughtful touch. Outside was equally amazing. The hot tub was incredible, always warm and ready to use, and they’d even provided plastic glasses and an ice bucket for drinks, which was perfect for sitting out with a glass of fizz. The outdoor dining area and BBQ setup were brilliant too. The location was ideal as well. We used the farm shop and coffee shop during our stay, both of which were fantastic, went for a lovely walk around Delamere Forest, and had dinner at The Fox & Barrel one evening which was great. The whole place was just so peaceful and pretty, it really felt like somewhere you could properly switch off, relax and recharge. We would absolutely stay again and wouldn’t hesitate to book the Nordmann Fir lodge in the future.

Once arrived and in the lodge, it was just as we hoped, but I feel I need to share a few things that frustrated us. 1. Dynamic pricing pushed our 2 nights up by £127 vs a similar weekend in peak August. 2. Locating the lodges after hours was a challenge. The address on the booking took us 2 miles away. We eventually located the farm shop, but the gate was closed. We then tried the lane ( no signage on main road) but the delivery gate stated no access and a sign on the gate pointed to an out of hours gate 100m away. This gate was closed and again, said no access. Checking the confirmation email, I located some directions but there is no mention of what code to use to open this gate. Although the instructions in the lodge did have a code but that's no good if you've not arrived. This really has let the overall score down and it would be so easy to fix. Other guests had the same issue after hours. 3. You just let yourself in but we didn't know, we expected some form of meet and greet but once we knew after chatting to another guest, we were ok. Tea and coffee is provided, but no milk and for what is a luxury Lodge, you would expect a small welcome pack. Overall rating is 3.5 but easily a 4.5 if they fix the errors

We have just returned home from a fabulous weekend break here . We were a party of 10 ladies celebrating our friends birthday and we stayed across two lodges. I can’t fault our break in any way, it was perfect from start to finish. Beautifully well equipped lodges, stunning location and we found all staff right across the venue to be very friendly, helpful and accommodating to our needs. We are already talking about a return and I would highly recommend to family and friends.
