About Alvanley Arms Cotebrook

Just seven rooms make up Alvanley Arms Cotebrook, each with an en-suite bathroom and drinks available on request, giving the place the feel of a proper country inn rather than a large hotel. Free WiFi and 24 hour reception cover the practical side, while the small scale means guests get a more personal stay than at bigger properties in the area.

The kitchen is the heart of Alvanley Arms Cotebrook, with a restaurant known for its pies, fish and chips, and a Sunday lunch that regularly draws praise. Breakfast is served on site, and the bar and outdoor seating area, along with the garden and picnic spot, make good use of the grounds in fair weather. Staff are consistently described as attentive, and the overall pricing is considered fair for what's on offer.

Set on Forest Road on the edge of Tarporley in Cheshire, the inn has a golf course, other pubs and restaurants, and entertainment nearby, making it a reasonable base for exploring the surrounding area. Free on-site parking is provided, which is worth knowing for anyone arriving by car.

Brilliant food reasonably priced. We dropped in last minute today and the staff did their best to seat us. Didn't wait too long for food and the staff were polite and helpful. The steak and ale pie was lovely. Thanks guys 👍

Went for a Sunday lunch and as always it was lovely. We arrived at 12:30 and was shown to our pre booked table. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I would certainly recommend the Sunday lunch to anyone who likes the food fresh and seasonal. Well done to all the staff who work hard to keep the standards high😋

We stopped here on our way home as Cheshire is known for having excellent pub lunches. However we ordered here and the food was lifeless and bland. Posh pub prices and cheap pub food, really disappointed. The Kids burger smelt like you'd get from a cheap fairground ride and the bun was stale. The pie we ordered was tasteless and the pastry was undercooked on the bottom (raw). Unfortunately I would not recommend stopping here for food.

Excellent stay. Very comfortable, clean room with great amenities. Enjoyed delicious lunch and supper, all food beautifully cooked, quality produce, well presented and served hot. The staff are super friendly, welcoming and amazing service. We can't wait to return.
