About Golborne Caravan Park

This compact site near Chester revolves around a peaceful fishing pond that draws plenty of wildlife and provides the star view from your shepherd's hut deck. Mother-and-daughter team Karen and Natalie have kitted out the hut thoughtfully – bed made on arrival, kitchenette with microwave and that handy Ninja Foodi oven, plus an ensuite toilet and sink (shared shower block nearby). The real draw is the outdoor space: settle into the Adirondack chairs by the firepit as the sun sets over the water, or take advantage of the dark skies for proper stargazing.

The on-site café and farm shop (Tuesday-Sunday, 9am-4pm) keeps you stocked with pies, pasties, cakes and essentials, so you needn't venture far. Though a few guests note the facilities can feel a touch tired in places, the tranquil setting and easy access to the A41 – handy for Chester day trips – make this a relaxing Cheshire hideaway for a simple, budget-friendly break.

Great walks and views. Fishing lake, Quiet spot, other than a bit of road noise. Great farm shop and café. Lovely staff, food choices and quality is really good. Definitely a good base for getting into Chester. Park and ride close by.

Absolutely amazing place, nature, peace, quite. In the hut is everything what you need but we didn't spend much time, just sleeping. Fishing and discovering the nature is what we really enjoyed. Near the hut is café where is delicious breakfast and ice creamsnand also toilets and showers. Highly recommend this place

Close to Chester and not too far to travel into Wales. All pitches have electric hook up and water and are well kept, 5 are hard standing. Toilets and showers basic but always clean and tidy. Shower pressure good and not on timer but cubicle could be a bit tight if you are a bigger build. Grounds are deliberately left wild but have mown path with a pool and view beyond to fields and hills. Only downside was the traffic noise which continued to a lesser extent throughout the night. We only managed to connect to WiFi network briefly once whilst there and signal not brilliant on phone network. Nice antique shop next to site.

2nd time going in August as its a beautiful place, nice toilets and showers, hammocks are great addition even saw a chicken roaming and bunny. Despite being off the road it's so lovely sitting outside tent enjoying the views. Owners are so kind. Our first time camping and we went back, not busy very peaceful. Can get the park and ride cheap to go into Chester which I didn't know until 2nd visit but it makes so much sense as driving round Chester can be a little faff. 20 min drive from retail park that has bowling and food places and b&m. Will definitely return in warmer season getting a bit cold for little one :) thank you!
