Fishing lakes and family holiday park on the edge of Chichester itself

About Chichester Lakeside Holiday Park

Chichester Lakeside Holiday Park spreads around a series of fishing lakes on the eastern edge of the city, less than two miles from the cathedral and North Street's shops. The larger lake holds carp, pike, tench, bream and roach, drawing anglers alongside families who ignore the rods entirely, and the park's position just off the A27 and A286 makes it a practical base for Goodwood, the harbour villages or walks into the South Downs.

Accommodation runs from straightforward caravan holiday homes to premium lodges and a growing number of glamping pods—no traditional tent pitches, so it suits visitors after a serviced, comfortable stay rather than canvas purists. Indoor and outdoor heated pools, a bar and restaurant with daytime and evening entertainment, a shop, playground and soft play cover most needs on-site, though some guests note facilities can feel a little tired in places.

Flat, well-maintained paths work for pushchairs and limited mobility, and Chichester's theatre, cathedral and evening restaurants sit close enough that families often split breaks between the park's own programme and a day or two in the city itself.

The site itself is nice but beware of the clubs food offerings. Burgers were not available for 3 nights of a 4 night stay. Had a steak instead BIG MISTAKE. It’s was the gristliest chewy lump of steak like “meat” I’ve ever had. Impossible to cut with the knife provided. Decided at 8:30pm to have a dessert. No chance the kitchen closes at 8pm. All in all a very poor experience from what is a really nice campsite. If you want to stop people going abroad the DO BETTER!

In the main this place is OK, some issues with dirty sheet on bed for 1st night, settee in main room only had 3 legs for some reason. Staff seemed helpful and polite. Bar and restaurant were both OK with a reasonable range of draught beers on tap, very expensive drinks and food though. The accommodation we were allocated was probably as dark away from the amenities as was possible, being pensioners we didn't enjoy the very long walk to and from the amenities, company contacted us on 1st morning to ask how we were getting on, after telling her what we thought her reply was we are full at the moment so can't move you nearer. Perhaps people's ages could be taken into consideration when bookings are being made in relation to amenities .

Spent a great Easter weekend here. We arrived early and staff pointed usnto the restaurant for a bite to eat before we could check in. Food was good and came out in a timely manner. When we went back to reception there was a decent queue but staff managed to clear through people very quickly. Our caravan was perfect for the 6 of us and a giant breed dog, plenty of space, clean and ready to use, no faults found at all. The site was clean and well presented with lots to do inside and in the nearby area. Will definitely be going back.

Had an absolutely fantastic time as we visited during term time. I can't speak from experience but during school holidays I'd be concerned about the capacity of some of the facilities compared to the size of the park itself. The pool was great as there were less than 10 people every time we used it and it was IMMACULATELY clean. The staff were amazing throughout the park and the entertainment team were sensational with our toddler. The whole park is very well maintained and the caravan we stayed in was nothing short of perfect.
