What visitors say
Just had a 2 night stay at lovely quiet campsite. Slept well as very quiet and couldn't really here the traffic noise when in van. Owners were very friendly and helpful. NO showers but toilets and basins very basic but clean. Close to Chipping Norton and easy access to local places.

Access We accessed the site from the West along A-roads making traveling to the site very easy indeed. The access onto the site itself is a driveway opening with a gate straight onto the camping field. All very accessible. The site is about a mile outside of Chipping Norton centre. Pitch The very spacious grass pitch was level and had a feeling of privacy, with tall heading to the rear of the pitch and a little screening between pitches. All pitches are spacious and face onto the single field where the pitches are based. The site is level with plenty of space to manoeuvre onto your pitch. Facilities The Toilet block whilst small and rustic, was well kept and cleaned every morning. There is a toilet each for men and women. There are no showers. Atmosphere Billy was very friendly and helpful on arrival, and gave some great tips of places to visit locally. He was up every morning cleaning the facilities. It’s a quiet site and relatively basic but we really liked the screened site and spacious pitches. Some other reviews complain of a local car wash and the road noise. Car wash is ambient noise during the day if you are there, not an overpowering noise. Not sure you’d even notice it. As for car noise, I think people think boy racers, but it’s an occasional noise from a high-end sports/supercar being driven on a dead straight A-road. It’s an affluent area and prestige cars are plentiful and driven about. At the end of the day the site is close to a plumb straight A-road. If you don’t want to hear cars, don’t book a site near an A-road. Surrounding Area The Cotswolds is home of quintessential English country villages. Chipping Norton is a a 1 mile walk from site with a range of pubs to visit, and you can also be on the lookout for celebs who seem to frequent Chippie. Plenty of lovely villages to visit as well, from Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold, Lower Slaughter. You’re also in Jeremy Clarkson territory so you have Diddly Squat Farm Shop 5 mins down the road and about 20min drive to his pub, The Farmer’s Dog. Also is just down the road for supplies. Conclusion It’s a great little CL, and just up our street. Friendly and relaxed. Close by amenities yet peaceful enough to chill out. Plenty to see and do locally with great country villages. This was a 4 night stop off on the way home from Devon to West Yorkshire, and firmly on our list of sites to visit again.

A very well looked after site right next to the river Wye. Good facilities and the pitches are very spacious. There is a bar and restaurant that does some very nice food at a reasonable price. The site has direct access to the river so great for kayakers and SUP users but watch the river, as it moves along at quite a pace.

Lovely traditional CL. Well maintained private pitches . Walkable distance to Chipping Norton. This is exactly what a CL should be. We ate at the "The Thai Shire" in Chipping Norton, really lovely Asian food
