About Cotswolds Camping at Holycombe

Tucked into a quiet corner of the Cotswolds near Whichford, Holycombe offers an eclectic mix of pitches that goes well beyond the standard tent spot. Alongside ten non-electric grass pitches, you'll find ensuite yurts, a vintage Airstream, a gypsy caravan, bell tents, and even a little Dutch cabin—each with its own character and thoughtful touches like fire pits, tables, and hammocks. Guests love the peaceful, laid-back atmosphere and praise the helpful, accommodating team who make booking straightforward.

The site leans into its eco-credentials with composting toilets and a genuine commitment to sustainability, though those after full hook-ups should note the focus here is firmly on getting back to basics. Campfires are allowed, showers and drinking water are on hand, and WiFi keeps you connected if needed. It's open year-round but doesn't accept pets, so plan accordingly.

What visitors say

Marianne Williams

We were glamping in blackcurrant bell tent for a long weekend. The tent was lovely with a super comfy bed and provisions for cooking (e.g. utensils, crockery, cutlery, gas stove) and lighting fires. In our tent we had a mini fridge too with small freezer area (for ice packs or ice cream!). There was use of a shared bathroom for three of the glamping units (though some other campers used it too!). The owners were responsive and gave lots of useful info ahead of arrival. There is a church clock nearby which sounds every quarter hour but it wasn't too disturbing. I've never been gl/camping before so this was a lovely introduction. The campsite is licenced for over 12s only so we left our toddler at home (attended!) and enjoyed the peace.

Boiler issue which meant showers were ice cold, no communication from staff to apologise for this in advance or let people know. One open top bin near the facilities, rodent jumped out and scratched me. Cafe did not open during our stay. Sent a text to staff r.e showers and received no response. I imagine this is normally a nice basic relaxed camp site, if all these issues hadn’t occurred for us. Good location.

The space is nice, however the showers weren’t a nice experience. The cafe was also closed the whole time we were there, which was one of the main points why we booked this space. Very quiet and peaceful.

Lovely peaceful site. The moat and the facilities and the charming glamping options make it memorable and unique. The hosts are very laid back, but available if you need them.
