Just got home from a weekend in this little gem. Motorhome pitch, was amazing. Level, plenty space between pitches. Lovely friendly owner, happy to chat. Toilet, showers, very clean and fresh. Loved the cows, especially J. Made my weekend. We will be back. Thank-you for an amazing peaceful weekend. Just what I needed.

In the heart of Englands green and pleasant country lies Upper Farm caravan site at Gretton. Easily reached from the Birmingham conurbation and only a couple of hours along the A49 from Warrington this haven of tranquility is ideally located for a relaxing getaway. The CL has 5 well spaced level all weather pitches with EHU's and drinking water points to the rear. There are the usual chemical toilet disposal and grey water outlets. A stand out feature is a super toilet and shower block with 2 rooms set out as wet rooms one of which is equipped with disabled persons toilet equipment. There are very few sites which can offer this amenity for those less able than others. The block is always clean and provisioned with loo rolls etc. The shower is optionally £1 coin slot (a very long shower) or by 20 p coins ( 2 of which will suffice for most people) As the name implies Upper farm is a working livestock farm and the site looks out over gently rising ground where cattle graze lazily. Views of Caer Caradoc and the Lawley can be seen in the west. This gives a hint for walkers and cyclists to venture out into the quiet local lanes and to take advantage of the stunning hill walking around here. Further south, the magical Wenlock edge is ever present. A short drive gets you to Much Wenlock with its quaint streets and abbey ( not to mention a butchers and the George and Dragon pub amongst other interesting things) In the other direction Church Stretton provides some interesting shops and acts as a gateway to the Long Mynd. Further north lies Shrewsbury which can be done by bus from Gretton on a Saturday morning or if you feel energetic, a walk over the wilderness between Caer Caradoc and Hope Bowdler (3.7 miles) gives you the option of rail and bus services to Shrewsbury or Ludlow to the south. Closer by, a 10 minute walk brings you to Cardington, notable for the Royal Oak, the oldest continually licensed pub in Shropshire, serving great pub food and well kept varied local real ales. It's a great watering hole after a days walking and a must visit if you are close by. Upper Farm Gretton is run by Fred Rogers and family. and you will get a warm and friendly welcome. As a busy farmer he is often out farming which means you may prefer to pitch first before announcing your arrival. The site itself is accessed by a number of different routes * all of which are quiet country lanes and a careful assessment of your chosen approach is advised particularly if you have a very large outfit. The site entrance is straightforward if approached from Gretton via Gilberries lane which also avoids a sharp curve with ramp. The hard standings are well compacted and those with awnings would benefit from using screw in pegs. * At the time of writing (Aug 2025) long term road closures at Cardington may influence your approach route if current.

Really lovely site, flat pitches with exceptional uninterrupted views for every pitch. Superb toilet block, well maintained , footpaths immediately adjacent, and well Priced. Super friendly owners, a really good experience. Only a 12 minute walk to the Royal Oak in Cardington, reviewed on google too.
