After seeing some quite frankly disgusting reviews of the site and the people who work there… I would like to come on here and give my opinion as someone who has stayed at the park many times even before actively staying here weekly with family who are owners.I have never experienced what has been described in the reviews I have read. The staff have always been so polite, friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere itself has always been so warm and welcoming.Along with security who always prioritise safety at the park and keep the area well monitored.I have never once felt unsafe at the park and if I ever did I know every single staff member is approachable. If you’re looking for somewhere great to camp, personally I would say don’t think twice!!

We spent the weekend at Waldergraves and, overall, had a really enjoyable stay. The site is beautiful, well maintained, and there’s plenty for families to do. My two sons had a fantastic time, and we genuinely enjoyed the weekend. Unfortunately, on the Saturday we had an unpleasant experience at the fishing lake that put a dampener on the trip. My youngest son was excitedly playing with a homemade stick and piece of string he’d made at school. It wasn’t a fishing rod, had no hook, and wasn’t being used to catch fish it was simply resting in the water next to my fishing rod. A Russian or Polish Spoken woman, approached us all in black, with little english, shouting that he couldn’t do that. Although I felt her approach was unnecessarily aggressive, I immediately asked my son to remove it, which he did straight away without any argument. I then said, “Alright, goodbye,” she then repeated herself and then so did I. She then stormed off in a mood believing the matter was resolved. A short while later, a member of staff came over with a similar accent and asked us to leave. I was told that saying “goodbye” had been taken as rude, which I found very surprising. We’d already complied with the request immediately, so being asked to leave felt completely disproportionate. The whole situation left my youngest son upset, especially as he’d only been excited to use something he’d proudly made at school. Aside from this incident, we genuinely had a great weekend and enjoyed everything Waldergraves has to offer. It’s a lovely place, but I do think this situation could have been handled with far more understanding, especially when dealing with families and young children.

I have booked a tent ⛺ pitch by the beach ☀️. The Park sits directly on the coast, offering stunning views and private beach access overlooking the beautiful Blackwater Estuary on Mersea Island. People are friendly, like-minded here, and always say hi. The park is huge. It has various types and sizes of caravans and places for motorhomes, plus plenty of tent pitches (they are full on weekends; I can imagine what it's going to be like when the kids' holiday starts, of course, if the weather is favourable). Open fires are allowed on your own grills, which is a big plus for me because I enjoy sitting by the fire 🔥 in the evenings, gazing at the stars ✨ and the moon 🌕. Cars can be parked right by the tents ⛺. There is everything you basically have at home except dishwashers and the kitchen if you tent but if you in a caravan you are at home people just in paradise 😂🤣👍👍. Very good and clean showers, toilets, laundry, and family showers; rows of sinks to wash your dishes and cutlery; caravan waste cleaning stations; jet ski cleaning stations; drinking water taps in various locations 📍; and rubbish bins; electric pitches. There is a restaurant, sports bar, shop, kids' play area, heated pool and golf ⛳ field. I can not name any reason not to come here. I saw someone complaining about the music on the weekends at the bar 🤣😂🤣. Come on, guys, it is only on weekends, and why not play it loud when there are a lot of people having a good time? This complaint is useless.

We used touring area, so many unruly children, which is not fault of the campsite but parents that also played loud music until 10pm. Not much space between the pitches, but electric and water at pitch. Showers could do with an up grade and not very clean. Not much to do in the area, great place if you have young children. Fishing was ok and reasonable price to fish. Site is very large and not staffed enough to stamp out unruly behavior and dog owners not picking up after there dogs which spoilt it for us we left early, when mentioned on leaving I was told well it is school holidays.
