Ryeland Hut

Ryeland Hut suits couples seeking solitude or friends wanting separate bases within easy reach of each other. This single-bedroom timber hut stands alone on 20 acres of farmland, where you'll find a hot tub, covered seating and access to walking routes that lead towards Tiptree and Messing. The whole property is yours: a compact, ground-floor space with an open-plan living and dining area, a kitchenette with two-ring hob, bedroom with a double bed, and shower room. The wood-burning stove and Freeview TV provide evening comfort. One well-behaved pet is welcome.

Everything essential is supplied—bed linen, towels, and logs for the hot tub—so you arrive ready to settle in. The kitchen is functional rather than elaborate, suited to simple cooking and heating water for tea. Beyond the hut, the farm itself has a small shop stocking local preserves, snacks and picnic items, and the site holds a meditation area for shared use. The surrounding grassland and wildflower meadows give a genuine sense of retreat, though you're never far from the village pubs and the National Trust's Bourne Mill. Check-in is after 4pm, checkout before 10am.
