Shepherds Belle & Croft Hut sits within a secluded meadow of long grasses and wildflowers near Colchester. You get a canvas bell tent as your bedroom, a separate croft hut serving as shower room and utility space, and a private 3/4 acre of grassland. The bell tent has a double bed, colourful soft furnishings in bohemian style, and a clear ceiling panel so you can lie back and watch the night sky. Solar lighting keeps things cosy once the sun goes down.
Cooking happens outdoors on a wood-fired stove or gas barbecue with pizza stone. The croft hut contains the shower cubicle, toilet, a cool box, external washing-up tap, and storage. Electricity, bed linen and towels are provided. The site has on-site car parking. A pub is within a mile. Everything is on ground level with level access to the tent entrance. Smoking is not permitted. One pet is welcome.
The location works well for exploring the local towns and villages including Chelmsford and Colchester. Oaksbrook Retreat is nearby if you're travelling with friends or colleagues.
