About Mill Valley
Simple, secluded and strictly for grown-ups – Mill Valley is a peaceful adults-only site tucked into Cornwall countryside five minutes from Wadebridge. Its proximity to town proves handy for shops, bike hire and picking up the traffic-free Camel Trail, while the A39 a mile away unlocks half-hour access to Tintagel Castle, the Eden Project, Bodmin Moor walks and Padstow's celebrated fish and chips.
Back on site, the appeal is deliberately low-key: pitches slope gently through an oak wood, facilities run to compost toilets and a wood-fired shower, and evenings revolve around your own barbecue. You can wild-swim in the nearby river or wander woodland paths with your dog (leads required because of resident livestock). Some will find the set-up too basic, but if you're after a grown-up escape that trades polish for tranquillity, this laidback spot delivers.

What visitors say
A truly amazing place with each individual yurt or shepherd's hut unique and beautiful. All lovingly created by the family with their own bare hands. Nicer hosts you won't find anywhere! Extremely helpful and genuinely kind, generous people. Be sure to visit and support their son Logans 'Outlaw Crafts' by a very talented teenage carpenter. Thank you for all that you did for me that was way above and beyond any expectations. I cannot recommend this beautiful escape highly enough.

Just got back from a stay in The Stumpy at Lisa & Neil’s place and could not have asked for a more charming, peaceful escape. From the moment we arrived, Lisa and Neil made us feel welcome and were full of excellent suggestions for local walks, beaches and places to eat. The hobbit-house setting is wonderfully cosy, perfect for lighting a fire, cooking and just unwinding. It was also spotless – and blissfully spider-free (what more could you ask for?). The riverside walk to the pub is gorgeous, fresh air, beautiful scenery, and such a simple pleasure. Our dogs loved every minute of it (especially the beach visit!), which made it even more special. Evenings were magical, with the crackle of the fire and the incredible sound of owls calling through the woods, such a rare and beautiful experience. If you’re looking for a getaway that mixes rustic charm, warm hospitality, nature and calm, The Stumpy with Lisa & Neil is absolutely that. We can’t wait to come back.

Absolutely lovely and welcoming owners. Beautiful land and beautiful yurts. Would absolutely recommend for anyone who needs a little nature break. I think I might have to book in again soon.

Best place to relax and be close to nature! Wonderful hosts and atmosphere. Very impressive hand made accommodation and attention to detail! Everything was very clean with super comfortable bed. Wood burners and place for a bonfire make it all very cosy and unique off grid way to spend time away from the city noise. What a fun to cook in the outdoor kitchen! Highly recommend!
