About Penhallow Campsite
This family-run site on the edge of Mount Hawke village offers spacious bell tents that sleep four, each kitted out with a double bed, futon mattresses, rugs and outdoor seating. You'll need to bring bedding, but firepits and picnic benches make alfresco dinners—with views over rolling Cornish countryside—easy to conjure up. The village centre is a 10-minute stroll for supplies or the bus stop, while north Cornwall's beaches lie just 10 minutes by car: Porthtowan and Chapel Porth both promise excellent coastal walks and surf. Scenic trails and cycle routes radiate from the doorstep, and families appreciate the on-site play area alongside well-kept shared showers and loos. It's a peaceful, well-equipped base only 15 minutes from Truro, though note you're glamping rather than camping with your own kit.

What visitors say
My boyfriend and I had the pleasure of staying at Penhallow house this weekend. A gorgeous place packed with scenery and beautiful wildlife. We stayed in one of the glamping pods, everything and more was provided by our hosts who were so lovely. Breakfast room was constantly stocked and with such a great variety, even fresh eggs!! My boyfriend and I will most certainly be visiting here again. Everything was perfect.

You get what you pay for, great price for facilities available. The description of the camping is correct and accurate. Friendly and welcoming. Nice little village within walking distance. No washing dishes, great bonus !! The lane leading to the property .. ahhh ! But it is mentioned in the description so nothing is hidden. Loved the breakfast idea though not so continental as in the photos they have provided but still lovely fresh bread, milk, butter, eggs, jams, cereals, home made muffins and free tea and coffee all day ! :)

I had the perfect getaway in nature, was well taken care of by the wonderful hosts and connected with other guests too. I particularly loved the beautiful old woodland and the wildlife - the birdsong was astonishing (and I only live up the road!) Public footpaths and a national cycle path await the adventurous soul. There's also everything you need for a bit more glam: generous breakfast barn, WiFi, great pub-restaurants nearby.

A place to go camping but not actually camping. Showers and toilets on-site, nice open spaces. The host were really friendly and welcoming. Would highly recommend this place
