Tucked away in the peaceful hamlet of Bucklawren, Polborder Holidays is a tiny, lovingly maintained site that punches well above its weight for location. The seaside town of Looe is just five minutes by car – or you can walk it in 25 minutes via the lane that leads straight to the South West Coast Path. From there, you're spoilt for choice: boat trips and kayaking in Looe, the spectacular sands of Whitsand Bay on the Rame Peninsula, or old fishing villages like Polperro and Fowey, each steeped in smugglers' tales. Head inland and Bodmin Moor's stone circles and granite tors are only 20 to 30 minutes away.

Back on site, facilities are immaculate – think ample showers, hair dryers, shaving points – and there's a proper emphasis on peace and quiet. No on-site pub or club here; just sloping Cornish countryside and the kind of atmosphere that makes unwinding effortless. A gem for walkers, dog owners, and anyone after a genuine escape.
