About Prosper House Camping
Gwithian has long been a favourite with surfers and beach lovers, and Prosper House Camping puts you within easy striking distance of the sand, rockpools and coast path – all less than a mile away. This small, family-run site keeps things refreshingly simple: a handful of non-electric grass pitches spread across peaceful farmland, with hot showers, a communal fridge and charging facilities in the utilities corner. The laid-back vibe and open space make it a hit with families who want kids to roam freely and evenings gathered around the firepit.
The village pub is virtually on the doorstep, and a 20-minute stroll brings you to a couple of popular seaside cafés. Decent bus links mean Hayle's shops and train station are only 20 minutes away when you need to restock. Since opening in 2016, Prosper House has built a loyal following – many guests return year after year. If you're after unfussy, old-school camping in a quiet corner of Cornwall's north coast, this ticks the boxes.

What visitors say
A nice site in a good location. Price is a little lower than the other sites across the road. Called to book and the owner was very pleasant and helpful and the pitches are a good size. The facilities are as per the photos on their website, rustic and basic but functioning. Would be 5 stars, but the access gate is tight and quite overgrown, and the water filling point needs to be more accessible. The single water point at the bottom of the field means you need at least a 10m hose to fill an onboard tank, and even then we had to reverse the van into the overhanging tree branches to reach. Aside from those small negatives though it's a great site and we would consider returning when next in the area

Absolutely wonderful site. Spotless showers and toilets. Good size pitches and most importantly not overcrowded. Very close to the Red River pub which i highly recommend and a short walk to the amazing beach at Gwithian. We will definitely be back next year and recommend to anyone.

Lovely campsite with great atmosphere and good sized pitches. The toilet and shower facilities were perfect, toiletries provided. The fridge isn't huge but was good enough for us. Free charger for your phone and great location. Would recommend!

Last minute booking for a night to stay whilst exploring Cornwall. Was contacted promptly with directions to our pitch. The chickens running around was amazing, definitely the highlight of the visit! The showers were good, decent power and adjustable temperature, only downfall was the wind making me cold. Toilets were clean and fully stocked even with the nasty 8 legged friend in the corner 😫😫 both the showers and toilets are in little huts which gave the proper camping vibes. There was a kettle and fridge available to use although we didn't as we had facilities in the van. Very quiet on site too, we arrived about 7pm and left by 11am. Will definitely return again!
