About Summit Camping
Summit Camping unfolds on the flanks of Kit Hill, a pop-up site that trades year-round polish for genuine seasonal charm and those sweeping sea views stretching across the Tamar Valley. Campfires are encouraged, dogs run free, and the pitches feel wonderfully off-grid—there's no WiFi or chemical disposal, so come prepared for proper outdoors living. Families settle in happily here, drawn by the space and the proximity to both Dartmoor's granite tors and Cornwall's quieter northern reaches.
The facilities are functional rather than fancy—showers, toilets, drinking water—and the site can feel a touch makeshift in places, which some will love and others might find wanting. But if you're after starry nights, morning mist rolling through the valley, and a relaxed base for roaming two counties, Summit Camping delivers exactly that.

We have to say our experience has been amazing. We had a tent provided for us, which was completely furnished with everything you need for camping. From comfy beds, gas stoves, a bbq and more. Fresh water, hot shower, solar powered charging station, communal fire. What else could you ask for?! Beautiful 360 views and only an hour drive to the Newquay beach. Big thanks to Jon and Tracy the owners. Who are very welcoming and lovely people. We will be returning for sure. Tyler, Megan, Alby & Sophia

Lovely place with stunning views over the Tamar Valley. Views of the coast near Plymouth can be seen on a good day and we were lucky to have a couple of nights where we could stargaze. Our Basic needs were catered for by Tracy, the host who is very welcoming and helpful. She gave us information about where to visit, and walks in the area. Local amenities like supermarket etc were a short drive away. We had an enjoyable time at Summit, back to basics but enjoying the natural beauty around us. Loved it
