About The Copper Pot Campsite

To Cornwall, and Callington, and a cracking country break with a conscience. The Copper Pot Campsite sits in prime position bordering the National Trust's Cotehele estate and the Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and it's been purposely set up with low-impact, eco-friendly stays in mind. Arrive by train at Gunnislake (10 minutes away) and they'll happily sort transport to whisk you to the site; from there you can explore local walking trails or hire their bikes for two-wheeled touring. With a near-perfect five-star rating, visitors consistently praise the warm welcome and thoughtful touches throughout.

Rental tents come already pitched with beds and bedding, plus there's plenty of cooking kit for prepping meals in the well-equipped kitchen or at the two campfire areas (if you've not toddled off to the pub 10 minutes away). Off-grid tents have LED lighting and share a bathroom with compost toilets and hot showers. It's a tiny setup – just a handful of pitches – which keeps things peaceful and intimate, though some might find the minimal facilities a touch basic for longer stays.

My 7yo son and I stayed at the Copperpot for 4 nights. James is the most welcoming, friendly, and generous host, and amazing campfire cook! I loved that it was so very peaceful, surrounded by nature, in the middle of nowhere, while still being close to fun days out (we did canoeing, eden project, beach trip, and morwellham quay) My son loved the epic lego tables, the animals, banter with James, and the best burgers he's ever had! We loved the communal firepit area, and how folks came together in the evening. A special place, with the best host. We can't wait to return in the future

Beautiful spot. Amazing hospitality. Loads of interesting courses to do like foraging for example. A huge communal fire pit and covered area to share social moments. James the host is an amazing guy.

We had a decent stay at the campsite. The campfire area was a nice touch, and the owner was friendly and helpful throughout. However, there were a few things that could be improved. There were three dogs frequently around the kitchen and eating areas, which wasn’t ideal when trying to prepare or enjoy food. The bins were full and not emptied during our stay, and the kitchen could use a good clean—it had a strong dog smell and lacked proper lighting. With a bit more attention to cleanliness and organization, this place could be great.
