About The Meadows
Tucked away near St Austell, The Meadows offers a peaceful retreat for adults seeking a proper camping experience in Cornwall. With campfires permitted and a welcoming atmosphere for dogs, it strikes a nice balance between back-to-basics charm and modern convenience—electric hook-ups and WiFi keep you connected when needed. The facilities cover all the essentials, including showers and chemical disposal points, while the adult-only policy ensures a tranquil setting for couples and friends looking to unwind.
Its location makes it a handy base for exploring both Cornwall's dramatic coastline and the Eden Project, just a short drive away. The strong guest rating reflects its no-fuss approach and friendly management, though it's worth noting this is straightforward camping rather than a glamping retreat—perfect if you prefer simplicity over polish.

First time for us at The Meadows Campsite and it won't be the last .!! What a lovely greeting we recieved on our arrival and our pitch was lovely very spacious with electric and own water which we were very pleased about .Location was great with an excellent bus service and beautiful walks . Facilities were very clean and excellent ,even had a little camp shed for things you might have forgotten. The lovely touch of there being a cosy bar 🍸 😀 where we met other Campers and had a good sing along with the entertainment 🎶 Thank You so much to Donna,Mike & Family The A Team . ❤️ 💙 Regards Mary & Gerald Reading

A great place to stay with easy access for a mini Winnebago 8m, a lovely friendly welcome and great facilities, only about 30 walk to Pentewan and the Ship Inn, would recommend to anyone.

Absolutely wonderful experience staying at The Meadows - vibes were immaculate (and kid-free!), pitch and facilities were spotless, and the bar in the evening was great fun, and incredibly reasonably priced. All topped off by the incredibly warm welcome and hosting from Donna & Mike, who clearly work dawn to dusk to keep the site running like clockwork - in addition to this, after we clumsily left a jacket behind drying on a bench, they posted it back to our home address within days of arriving home. Location is perfectly situated for access to the beautiful coastal villages around the area, with a semi-regular bus service from right outside the main gate into Megavissey and St Austell. A real 10/10 experience, and we can’t wait to return in the near future!

What an amazing little site this was. Just had our first 2 week stay & really didn’t want to leave. It’s an adult’s only mix of caravans, motorhomes, tents (including wild camping) site. There’s a covered Al Fresco bar that opens 4 nights a week, sometimes with live music. Pitches are large & flat , most have electric & water. Toilet & showers are very clean & there’s also a washing machine & dryer available for a small charge. Donna & Mike are fantastic hosts & really lovely people. Can’t wait to return again next year…..keep doing what you’re doing 😊🍹
