About Tregonger Dawn

When you're Cornwall bound and wanting to dodge the coastal crowds, Tregonger Dawn delivers proper rural escape on a pop-up site surrounded by lush valleys and woodland. Wake to birdsong and horses snuffling in neighbouring fields, then linger over coffee as the sun rises over the hills. North-coast beaches are just twenty minutes away for rockpooling and surfing, while walkers and their dogs can roam open fields right from the pitch.

The site keeps things simple but thoughtful: composting loos, a spacious outdoor shower, firewood for sale, and fresh eggs from the farm's hens available each morning for a small fee. Stargazers are in luck on cloudless nights, when the skies put on quite a show. A couple of good pubs sit within ten minutes' drive, and Launceston's supermarkets cover any forgotten essentials. It's wild camping with a warm welcome – motorcyclists, Duke of Edinburgh groups and families all find their stride here.

What visitors say

We booked this lovely place for a quiet, calm chilled weekend spontaneously, very happy to say that we enjoyed it! Both Rhys and Julie are great, very helpful and kind people. We both found this place cosy, our dog also enjoyed it, especially when hearing the peacocks! All the dogs on site are adorable sweet things, very friendly. Definitely recommend for a nice weekend away.

Booked a last minute 2 night stay in the Bell Tent. Myself and 2 sons had a wonderful time & didn't want to leave. Julie & Bill are such lovely kind people. One of my sons is autistic and they were both brilliant with him. Julie's attention to detail is fantastic and we had a very comfortable stay. Already looking at dates to go back! Highly recommend.

Stay at the Dawn was an absolute bliss. Julie and Bill are fantastic hosts and lovely people. If you love animals this place will be like heaven. Horses, dogs, cats, peacocks. Each of them coming to you and saying hello! Morning coffee with a view, the only neighbour a horse named Harvey that comes to you for cuddles! The hut itself has everything what you need, and Julie even left us some fresh eggs, milk, butter, bread, marmalade and few more bits like cornish biscuits etc. We travel always with some essentials like tea or coffee but this hut had also everything what you need! The interior is decorated very tastefully and the space is well designed. Everything is spotless clean! The al fresco outdoor shower is so nice! If you are looking for a rural escape from all the noise of everyday life this is a perfect spot for unwinding, relaxing and connecting with nature. Great beaches within less than 30 min drive. We can’t recommend any pubs as we bbq each evening for dinner on our own, but Julie has lot of local recommendations. Thank you and we will be definitely back
