12 Zinc

Photo: brian liddle

Families and small groups will find 12 Zinc works well for a seaside break. The apartment is a short walk from Fistral Beach and sits within a mile of the coast, with the Newquay Golf Club nearby and Sainsbury's close for provisions. All rooms are on the ground floor, which means no stairs to manage with children or luggage.

Inside, the open-plan living space has a sofa bed and a 47-inch TV. The kitchen is equipped to cook proper meals—there's an electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher and all the basics. One bedroom has a double bed with an ensuite shower; the other has bunk beds for children. A second bathroom serves the rest of the space. The large 30-foot terrace and rear balcony make the most of the setting, with garden furniture for sitting out. A patio dining area connects the living space to the outside.

Essentials are included: Wi-Fi, heating, bedding, towels. There's a cot and highchair if needed, bike storage, and parking for one car in the underground car park. No smoking is permitted.

Apartments 19 fantastic can’t complain. Lovely, clean and well maintained. Problem is a very nosey neighbour with a dog. Stands on the steps looking in our apartment every day to which we have had to keep the blinds closed. He’s also quirying my partner regularly regarding smoking in the block . Going to get a photo of him to name and shame him. I’m here for 2 weeks and have been very poorly from the second day . Had paramedics out and also spent a lot of time at hospital but this inspector morse continues to harass us. I’ll keep u updated

Very nice apartment good quality fittings and furniture. Well appointed but the main thing about this apartment is location. Headland road leads directly to fistral beach so 500 yds to the sea and Rick Steins chip shop. The headland hotel is also there great food amazing views over fistral beach. The apartment looks out over the golf course and beyond that the sea. If you like golf you can watch it all day, we have seen golfers on the links from dawn to dusk. Fistral beach is probably the best known surfing beach and there is a lot of it going on. As I say location is everything and 6 mins walk in the other direction and you have a major supermarket. And beyond that the bustling town centre. There are endless bars and cafes surf shops and pretty much any other shop you could want. Add that to the picturesque harbour and streets. What more could you want.

Stayed for a week. Generally a great place, amazing views and well equipped apartment. Bit tired and needing maintenance in some areas. Fantastic location.

Absolutely terrible, we booked a year in advance for a 2 week holiday with our dogs and the owners cancelled 4 days before our holiday saying they no longer allowed dogs however we were made aware that all the other apartments had made this amendment well in advance. This caused a lot of stress and a rush to try and book another place. We have been going to zinc for years and it is absolutely lovely however their organisation skills this time have ruined our experience with them.
