19th Hole - Caddie
Cornwall
Carlyon Bay and Porthpean are within minutes on foot or by car, and the South Cornwall coast here opens onto dozens of worthwhile stops. Charlestown's harbour hosts tall ships and has pubs and a museum; Fowey, Truro, Padstow and St Ives are all reachable for the day. The Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan draw crowds, as do numerous National Trust properties. If you want to stay local, the Carlyon Bay Hotel offers restaurants and a golf course overlooking the sea, or venture a mile or so further to find a shop, pub and restaurant.
