ARC Padstow

Photo: Bart - The Place & Pub Finder

Step through the doors of ARC Padstow and you enter a carefully restored 18th-century building arranged across three floors. The ground level opens into interconnected living spaces: a sitting room with an open fire, a separate television room, a dining room that flows onto the garden, and a playroom stocked with games. The kitchen is built for feeding a crowd, with two electric ovens, an induction hob, dishwasher and ample storage alongside a breakfast area. A master bedroom and additional bathroom complete this floor.

Upstairs, nine further bedrooms are spread across the first and second storeys, each with its own ensuite. Beds range from kingsize to super kingsize, and several rooms offer zip-and-link configurations that can be split into twins on request. Most ensuites have walk-in showers; some have baths as well. Heated towel rails run throughout.

The enclosed garden includes a wood-fired hot tub for six, a firepit, summerhouse, barbecue and bar area. Parking is provided for six cars. The essentials—heating, electricity, linen and towels—are included, along with WiFi. No smoking inside. The property sleeps 26 and is available whole to your group alone, making it suited to extended families, celebrations or retreats. St Issey Church stands nearby; Padstow's harbour and beaches lie within easy reach.

Nice location and house for a group of up to 20 people ? Hot tub, fire pit, pizza oven and outside dining area House impractical in many areas, kitchen lighting poor (in fact dark at both ends) bedroom lighting poor (especially over the sink) I can’t even describe how I had to enter my bedroom shower, lack of sockets (couldn’t find one in the utility room) and kitchen appliances that are not intuitive to operate (our hardened bean to cup coffee drinker took 20 mins to figure out how the coffee machine worked, had to resort to YouTube ) tip of the day, there is an on off switch on the left hand side which is hidden because the machine is butted up to the wall on the left and not visible House very well restored and has a nice feel to it, if it wasn’t for Jackie the house keeper we could have had a very frustrating weekend (hot tub fuse blew - and she was on it ) so many thanks to her and the cleaning team (house was spotless) Watch out for angry neighbours keeping a constant eye out on the road outside to make sure you don’t park on it (public road) Church car park doubles up as additional parking space (church donations please) Would I go back ? Probably, for the right occasion, but how such a beautiful house, beautifully restored, could be so disfunctional in so many areas is beyond me, so whoever your architects were, ask for a refund I assume it was the London based partnership ‘Style Over Function Architects Ltd’ Conclusion : Every large house needs a Jackie 👍😊

We had a fantastic weekend to celebrate a big birthday. The house was exceptional and very well equipped for all ages. Definitely use ARC lobby to book the chef for a day, the food was amazing. We will be back.

A wonderful house in a stunning location, beautifully designed interior that combines the charm and rustic feel of the countryside whist providing all the modern day comfort and luxury. The art on display is well curated and gives the house an unique ambiance. The option to book a chef is fantastic and we had the most delicious meal. Highly recommend staying at Arc Padstow to explore the beauty of Cornwall!
