West Cornwall's unspoilt mining landscape surrounds Barncott, a detached cottage in Trewellard village within reach of Portheras Cove and set among the tin-mine relics and moorland that define this UNESCO World Heritage area. The cottage sits on the scenic drive between St Ives and Land's End, with the Trewellard Meadery and Geevor Tin Mine both nearby, and walking access to dramatic coastal paths, including the cliff-top views at Crown Mines.
Ground floor has an open-plan living and dining space with a woodburner and TV, plus a kitchen equipped for proper cooking—oven, hob, dishwasher and the rest. Upstairs, a galleried bedroom with a king-size bed connects to an ensuite with bath and shower. Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are included; logs for the fire come with the booking. Outside, a lawned garden with patio and seating looks onto the village, and a bike store sits by the private parking space. No smoking indoors.
Trewellard village has pubs, restaurants, a pottery studio and local shops within walking distance. St Just, a short drive away, offers further dining and retail options. This is a two-person base for exploring one of Cornwall's most dramatic stretches—coastal walks, beaches, heathland and the industrial archaeology of the old mining district are all on the doorstep.
