The Shippen is a two-bedroom cottage at Cartole Cottages, a converted barn and stable complex near Looe in south-east Cornwall. You get the whole property to yourself: a ground-floor living and dining space with a kitchen, and upstairs two bedrooms and a bathroom. The double and two single beds sleep four. Essentials including heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are covered, and there is parking for two cars on site.
The kitchen is equipped for cooking proper meals—electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge and dishwasher. A utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer (shared with other cottages) means you can manage laundry. Outside, there is a shared lawned courtyard, and you have access to a patio with garden furniture; a barbecue is available if you ask. The property sits within easy reach of Looe's harbour and Polperro's fishing village character, and makes a base for exploring the wider Cornish coast. A cot, highchair and stairgate can be provided if needed. No smoking inside.

If I could give 10 stars, I would. It's like home from home. Karl and Miles are such great hosts. The cottages are clean and spacious and beds comfortable. In between towns Looe and Polperro. Quiet location surrounded by fields of sheep. Play area for children is fun. Worth another visit.

Just returned after spending a week in kernewyck cottage. All furnishings were comfortable, settees, beds etc. the bedding was very clean and fresh. We had our two small dogs with us and there was ample space to exercise them around the cottage, there is a fully enclosed patio area. The kitchen was small but it had ample plates pans etc. It is a good base to explore Cornwall. The owners were away when we arrived but when they returned Karl came and introduced himself and check everything was ok. A lovely man. Would definitely recommend to anyone with children or dogs .
