About Ashen Cross Farm Camping

Wake up surrounded by the fields and valleys of Cornwall at this tiny, peaceful spot tucked into a quiet corner of a working farm on the edge of Pelynt village, just five minutes' drive from Looe. The handful of level, neatly mown grass pitches come with firepits and ample space for chairs and barbecues, while facilities keep things simple: hot showers, drinking water, washing-up area, plus communal fridge and freezer. It's otherwise fairly rustic, so pack torches for night-time wandering.

Pelynt, a 15-minute walk away, has a welcoming pub with a large beer garden serving food all day, plus a well-stocked shop and popular butchers. Woodland and riverside paths lead to Looe (an hour and a half on foot), while Polperro is 55 minutes' walk along quiet lanes—both offer plenty of pubs and restaurants. Talland Bay beach is five minutes by car, or drive to Polruan and catch the foot ferry across to browse lively Fowey's shops and eateries.

Just stayed 4 nights at the Ashen Cross Cottages and you will not be disappointed if you are looking to book. Cottage is lovely and has everything you need, Tracy had thought of everything. Tracy gave us a warm welcome and provided homemade bread, scones, shortbread, milk and eggs from her chickens. Will definitely book again in future.

We’re just home from another wonderful stay at Ashen Cross Cottage’s, The Owl feels like home as soon as we arrived, roomy, clean and super comfortable, fresh bread and cream tea waiting, most welcome after driving down from London. The fishing lake is perfect to sit and have a beer and watch the swallows & huge fish ( there’s a fridge and an honesty box in the Summer house) We love staying here, we’ve been coming for a few years now and have stayed in both cottages, both are lovely. We can get to the north coast and sunset watch with in an hour, but we find the south coast more dog friendly, and a little slower paced. Tracey and Geoff are fabulous hosts and we feel so lucky to have found their cottage’s to stay in when holidaying in our favourite place on the planet.

Lovely "off the beaten track" cottages, just 2 of them. Tracy is a super host, nothing is too much trouble. Lovely welcome basket of home made goodies, bread, jam, cake, eggs if the chickens oblige. Also cream and butter to go with the homemade scones. And a bonus cake part way through our week. Both cottages have everything you need to make your stay a pleasure, comfortable beds, lovely sofas and so much more. We have had both the one bedroom and 2 bedroom cottage. Lovely short walk to the lake, full of fish that love to be fed. Sit by the lake and relax. Wonderful, thank you Tracy and Geoff.
