Cheesewring Farm - Fizz Gog Cottage

Photo: peter manning

Bodmin Moor's walking routes begin practically at the door of Fizz Gog Cottage, a converted granite barn on Cheesewring Farm outside Liskeard. The Cheesewring itself—a natural stack of weathered stones—is reachable on foot, as are the Hurlers stone circles and the tors that dot the moorland. The cottage suits couples after a quiet base for exploring the moor and countryside; it sleeps two in a ground-floor layout with everything in one storey.

Inside: a king-size bedroom with an ensuite shower, an open-plan living and dining space with a smart TV, and a kitchen equipped to cook proper meals. Essentials like electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are covered. There's a garden and patio with furniture at the back, private parking for two cars, and a travelling cot available if needed. One dog is welcome, kept on a lead. The cottage is non-smoking.

The setting is genuinely rural—rolling fields with views towards the Tamar Valley and distant Dartmoor. After a day on the moor, the electric fire and quiet garden make for a straightforward retreat.
