Gwedna Barns - The Long Barn

Photo: Gwedna Barns

The Long Barn is a converted agricultural building on a working farm within a World Heritage site near Helston. The entire ground-floor property is yours alone, with a living room featuring an open fire, a kitchen-dining space with a full range of appliances, two bedrooms (one with a king bed, one with two singles), and a bathroom with bath and shower. Essentials like electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are covered; initial fuel for the fire is included.

Two acres of woodland surround the property, dotted with landscaped gardens and seating areas. You have private parking for two cars and a bike store on site. The setting is rural and quiet, yet the coast lies just 15 minutes' drive away, making it reachable for a day's beach time or coastal walks. Godolphin House, a significant National Trust property linked to Cornwall's mining heritage, is nearby. The south west coast offers some of England's best surfing and fishing. No smoking throughout the property.

Great fully modernised and tastefully furnished cottages at Gwedna Barns in a very convenient location betwixt St Ives and Porthleven. Geoff the owner is extremely helpful providing milk on arrival and a very thoughtful bottle of wine. We look forward to staying again.

Lovely place to stay. Not suitable for wheelchairs or people with limited mobility. Beautiful location and setting. Loved sitting in front of the fireplace with wind and rain outside. Kitchen had everything needed, even dropped off some milk. Will definitely be going back.

Stayed at The Stable. Lovely place with great west facing far countryside view. Highly recommended. If you are light sleepers however it may be worth bearing in mind the metal bedframe is creaky and the wall to the neighbouring property is thin (ironic given the external walls are very thick solid stone) - so if unlucky you can hear your neighbours snoring!
